Dear Parents of 3^rd – 8^th Grade Students:

We have a required summer reading list for 3^rd – 8^th grade students. The language arts teachers will begin the 2009-2010 school year with a class discussion of the novel(s), and an assigned written response will serve as a baseline writing sample for each student.

If your child has already read the designated selection(s), please have him/her read it (them) again. As students learn and grow they read with an expanded knowledge base and gain new insights into literature, and we want the novels to be fresh in their minds to respond appropriately in class.
